Welcome to Canberra and to Canberra's public transport system, ACTION. ACTION's bus network operates every day of the year and has services that can take you where you want to go, quickly and easily!
How to use ACTION
ACTION's services are based around four town centre bus interchanges - City, Woden, Tuggeranong and Belconnen.
You can catch a bus from any bus interchange or from any stop along the bus route by signaling the driver. bus stops are identified by a yellow sign placed on a pole with the words "Bus Stop" or a yellow wooden peg with the words "Signal Bus".
When you wish to get off the bus, press the bell (located on the poles inside the bus) to alert the driver. the Driver will then pull over at the next bus stop where it is safe to do so. Please note that the rear bus doors only open at bus interchanges.

Fares
ACTION recommends the Daily Ticket which you can buy from any bus driver as you board the bus, or from any ACTION ticket agent, including the Canberra Visitors Centre. The daily ticket provides you with unlimited travel on all of ACTION's bus services for the entire day.
The Off-Peak Daily ticket is also a real bargain providing discount travel for everyone during off-peak times (9.00 am - 4.30 pm and after 6.00 pm Monday to Friday and all day on weekends and public holidays). Purchase your Off-Peak Daily tickets on the bus.

Individual timetable leaflets for all routes are available free of charge from ACTION bus interchanges and most news agencies. You may also like to pick up a copy of ACTION's Canberra Bus Map which displays all of ACTION's services.
Bus timetable information is also available from all Austouch machines which are located at all Interchanges and various places of convenience around Canberra.
In Canberra City, visit the ACTION Information Office located at the between Platforms 1 and 2 of the City Bus Interchange on East Row.
