Park and Ride

ACTION offers Park and Ride Permits to persons who purchase either an Adult Monthly, 4 Adult Weekly or 4 Adult 10 Ride Faresaver Tickets at no extra charge.

The Park and Ride permit allows you to park for free during certain times near ACTION's three bus Interchanges. There are additional Park n' Ride locations across Canberra that do not require a permit.

How to get a Park ‘n Ride Permit:

Simply present one of the above ticket types to one of ACTION’s Customer Service Offices. Your bus tickets will be stamped and you will be issued a Park ‘n Ride permit for one Calendar month.

Permits can be obtained from:

  • Belconnen, City and Woden Bus Interchanges.

Park n' Ride locations requiring a permit:

  • Belconnen Interchange, access from Swanson Circuit.
  • Woden Interchange,access from Matilda Street.
  • Tuggeranong Interchange, access from Anketell Street.

Park n' Ride locations not requiring a permit:

  • Belconnen:
    • Jamison Center, access from Bowman Street.
    • Charnwood Shopping Center, access from Lhotsky Street.
    • Kippax Center, access from Harwick Crescent.
  • Woden:
    • Curtin Shops, access from Carruthers Street.
  • Tuggeranong:
    • Kambah Village Shops, access from Marconi Crescent.
    • Kambah Center, access from O'Halloran circuit.
    • Chisholm Shops, access from Bentham Street.
    • Calwell Shops, access from Webber Street.

Park and Ride stamped tickets are non refundable.

Park n' Ride Conditions of use

The purchase of the Park 'n Ride tickets allows you to use, for one calendar month, the special Park n' Ride carparks close to ACTION Bus Interchanges at Woden, Belconnen and Tuggeranong and continue your journey on an ACTION bus.

Park 'n Ride permits must be used in conjunction with bus travel. For example you can park in Woden, Belconnen and Tuggeranong if you catch a bus to the City. You cannot however park in Woden if you work in Woden.

The Park 'n Ride permit and bus tickets are issued to the person whose signature appears on the form and is NOT transferable. ACTION may refuse or cancel Park 'n Ride permits and bus tickets if the motor vehicle or tickets are not used for the purposes for which the permit is granted. It is an offence to obtain or attempt to obtain a permit by making false statement or misrepresentation.

The ACT Government and ACTION takes no responsibility for any goods, property or possessions that may be lost, stolen or damaged, or any personal injury that may be caused, while in the confines of Park 'n Ride carparks.

ACTION reserves the right to confirm the work location of the Park n' Ride applicant.

  • The permit is valid only if being used on the vehicle to which it is issued
  • The permit must only be used when continuing a journey on an ACTION bus
  • The permit must be clearly visible though the front winscreen
  • The permit and bus tickets are non-refundable and cannot be tranferred to other users.
  • The permit is valid for one calendar month, beginning on the first day of the month
  • The permit is only valid for one location only
  • The permit is only valid for the location designated
  • The permit be revoked for any breach of the above conditions
