Gold Card
From 1 July 2008 Gold Card applications will be processed in Canberra Connect Shopfronts or the Driver Licence Service in Civic Library.

The ACT Government, as part of the 2008/09 Budget, announced free travel on ACTION buses for all Canberrans 75 years of age or older. From 1 July 2008, eligible Canberrans can apply for an ACTION free travel Gold Card by simply filling out a Gold Card Application form PDF (PDF 196Kb) and then visiting a Canberra Connect Shopfront or the Driver Licence Service in Civic Library. A Canberra Connect Customer Service Officer will take your photo and issue you with your new Gold Card.

Network 08 - Timetables

ACTION's New Network 08 timetables are now operating. If you already know your new bus number, visit the Routes by Number page to check your time. To find out about bus route options for your suburb visit the Routes by Suburb page. Timetables and a weekend bus service booklet are also available from all Bus Interchanges and Canberra Connect Shopfronts.

Going Your Way.

ACTION has designed a new bus network that has been based on community and driver feedback to deliver a better bus service for Canberrans. ACTION will introduce Network 08 in two phases. This is due to the need to recruit more bus drivers to accommodate the requirements of the new Network.

Phase 1 Network 08

Monday – Friday, Now operating

Phase 1 is now in operation and includes the introduction of improved Monday to Friday bus services. The improvements include increased frequency of services and more Xpresso bus routes.

Weekend Bus Routes

From Monday 2 June 2008

From Monday 2 June 2008, all weekend route numbers begin with a 9. For example Route 60 will become weekend Route 960.

A weekend booklet has been designed for weekend bus routes containing information about every bus service operating on Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays. You can get a booklet from any bus interchanges or Canberra Connect Shopfronts.

Phase 2 Network 08

Saturday and Sunday

This phase will be implemented at a later date. It will align weekend and weekday routes and numbers for a simpler, more consistent, 7-day network. Stay tuned for details.
