ACTION Easy Access Buses

ACTION's fleet includes easy access buses for people with reduced mobility. "Easy access" means there are no steps, so getting into and out of the bus is easier for everyone.

ACTION's bus fleet includes 115 easy access buses. Each of these buses is equipped with an extendable ramp, a wide front entrance, and space in the bus to accommodate wheelchairs or prams.

For customers with mobility issues, please ask the driver to put down the ramp for you to get on and off the bus.

Currently, ACTION's easy access fleet is dedicated to the high frequency "Intertown Route " series. This includes weekday routes 300, 312, 313, 314, 315, and weekend route 900.

Over the next 3 years ACTION will be purchasing 100 new wheelchair accessible (easy access) buses. ACTION's fleet replacement strategy will ensure that all buses are wheelchair accessible by 2022. ACTION is committed to meet Commonwealth Disability Discrimination (DDA) targets of 55% by 2012, 80% by 2017 and 100% in 2022. 29% of ACTION's current fleet are DDA compliant.
